The Maths Olympiad was created to 'challenge mathematically gifted students' and since its inception at the Junior level (Form Five students) in 1986, Modesec has entered and strived for excellence. In 1988 a senior level was introduced for Sixth Form students and from that year two teams represent Modsec at the yearly meet.
Just as its namesake - The Olympic Games - the Maths Olympiad is a highly competitive meet, and is consequently dubbed by many as the 'The Clash of the Maths Giants'. Here only the best survive and attain excellence.

The theme of the Inter School Christian Fellowship (I.S.C.F.) Group is to 'Know Christ and to make Him known, and as a result all our meetings are based on this two-fold concept. We help the students to come to a better knowledge of Christ and thus help them to realize that GOD is interested in every aspect of their lives. To teach and encourage them to tell others of God's LOVE. In our meetings, we have various activities, like Bible Study sessions, games, panel discussions, song spiration and skits. Guest speakers are often present at our meetings, one of whom is Miss. Ueline Joseph. She has attended many seminars based on many aspects of Youth Development. We also have PRAYER meetings every morning at 7.45 a.m. at the back of the school. Mrs. Thompson, our former principal, has always helped the I.S.C.F. group in this school and in fact was the founder of this organization in Trinidad and Tobago. She must be thanked tremendously for the growth of the I.S.C.F. groups the nation.
